What I Use To Clean My Makeup Brushes

Hey Belleza’s,

So today I wanted to tell you what I use to clean my makeup brushes with. Not too long ago, I used to use a makeup brush cleaner from Sephora. I wasn’t too crazy about how it cleaned, so when I finally finished the bottle I was on the search for something new.

About a year ago, I changed my skin care routine. I switched from using Philosophy’s Purity Facial Cleanser to using some products by Mario Badescu. I really loved my Purity Facial Cleanser, which I had been using for over a year; however, one day out of the blue my skin started going crazy and I experienced a lot of break outs. So it was time to change my skin care routine, to target my break outs.

I still had about a full bottle of Purity left when I switched facial cleansers, and there was no way that I was going to throw it away. I really love that no matter how much or what type of makeup you’re wearing Philosophy’s Purity will literally melt the makeup off in one wash. So instead of throwing it out, I figured that it might be a good idea to use it to wash my makeup brushes. Boy was I glad that I tried it. I’ve never used anything that cleaned my brushes so fast and left them so smooth and soft.

A little bit of cleanser goes a really long way and has lasted me a very long time. Sadly, my bottle is almost empty and I’m not sure if I should purchase another bottle. Only because a 16 FL oz. bottle cost around $33, and I seriously doubt I want to spend that much for a brush cleanser. When I think about it, this bottle has lasted about a year so I guess that’s not too bad. However, I’ll still be on the look out.

I would love to know what you use to wash your brushes with?

Stay tuned for my next post on the Do’s and Don’ts of washing your brushes.
